Policy
This policy explains what personal information Guy Hivroni collects through hivroni.art, why it is collected, how it is stored and protected, and the rights you have over it. It is written to comply with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981, the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777–2017, and, for visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the principles of the GDPR.
Using this site indicates that you have read and accepted this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the site.
Who we are
1.1This site is owned and operated by Guy Hivroni, an independent ceramic sculptor working from a studio at Davidson 8, Jerusalem, Israel (in this policy: “we”, “us” or “the studio”).
1.2The site presents Guy Hivroni’s sculptural work and allows collectors to purchase available pieces and to enquire about acquisitions, commissions and exhibitions.

Information we collect
We collect only what is needed in order to answer you, complete an order and keep the site working. Concretely:
- Information you give us directly — your name, e-mail address, telephone number, shipping and billing address, and the content of any message you send through the contact form or by e-mail.
- Order information — the works you purchased, order number, amount, currency, and the shipping details required to deliver the piece.
- Account information — if you create a customer account, the username and password you chose (passwords are stored encrypted and are never visible to us).
- Technical information — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring page, and the pages and works you viewed, together with the date and time.
We never collect or store your full credit-card number, its expiry date or its CVV. Card details are entered directly into the payment provider’s secure environment and never reach this site’s servers — see section 06.
How we use the information
Personal information is used for the following purposes only:
- Processing an order, preparing a work for shipping, and delivering it to you.
- Replying to enquiries about acquisitions, commissions, exhibitions and private viewings.
- Issuing invoices and receipts and meeting our bookkeeping and tax obligations under Israeli law.
- Handling cancellations, returns, refunds and damage claims.
- Sending you updates about new works or exhibitions — only if you explicitly asked to receive them (section 08).
- Understanding, in aggregate and anonymously, how the site is used, so it can be improved.
- Protecting the site against fraud, abuse and security incidents, and complying with a legal obligation.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Cookies and analytics
4.1A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by the site. This site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function (keeping your shopping cart, keeping you signed in, remembering your accessibility settings and your cookie choices), and, subject to your consent, cookies used for statistics.
4.2Statistical cookies tell us, in aggregate, which works and pages are viewed and for how long. They are not used to identify you personally.
4.3When you first arrive at the site, a consent banner lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie-settings button on the site.
4.4You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the shop and the checkout from working correctly.
Sharing information with others
5.1We do not pass your personal information to third parties, except to the service providers we need in order to deliver what you asked for:
- Payment provider — PayMe, which processes card and Bit payments on our behalf.
- Shipping and courier companies — which receive the delivery name, address and telephone number needed to bring the work to you, plus customs documentation for international shipments.
- Hosting and e-mail providers — which store the site and transmit its messages.
5.2Each of these providers receives only the information needed for its specific task and is bound to use it solely for that purpose.
5.3We will also disclose information where we are required to by law, by a court order or by a competent authority, or where it is necessary to defend our legal rights.
5.4In any other case, information will be passed on only with your explicit consent.
Payments
6.1Payments on this site are processed by PayMe, a licensed Israeli payment provider, over an encrypted connection. Card data is entered into PayMe’s secure environment and is handled under the PCI-DSS standard.
6.2We receive from the provider only a confirmation of the transaction and its identifier — never the card number itself.
6.3Prices are charged in New Israeli Shekels (₪). If you pay with a card issued outside Israel, your bank may apply its own conversion rate and foreign-transaction fee, over which we have no control.
Data security
7.1The entire site is served over an encrypted HTTPS/SSL connection. Access to the administration area is restricted, password-protected and limited to those who need it.
7.2We apply the organisational and technical measures required by the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777–2017, including access control, software updates and backups.
No online system can be guaranteed absolutely secure. We take every reasonable measure to protect your information, but we cannot promise complete immunity from unauthorised access, and by using the site you acknowledge this.
Marketing e-mail
8.1We will send you news about new works, exhibitions or openings only if you actively asked to receive them, as required by section 30A of the Communications (Telecommunications and Broadcasting) Law, 5742–1982.
8.2Every such message carries an unsubscribe link. You may also unsubscribe at any time by writing to hivroni@gmail.com, and we will remove you promptly.
8.3Transactional messages — an order confirmation, a shipping notice, a reply to your enquiry — are not marketing, and are sent regardless of your newsletter preference.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981 — and, if you are in the EU or the UK, under the GDPR — you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
- Erase your personal information, subject to records we are legally required to keep (for example, invoices retained for tax purposes).
- Object to a particular use of your information, and to withdraw consent you previously gave.
- Receive a copy of the information you gave us, in a common machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these, write to hivroni@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you may complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority, or to your local supervisory authority in the EU or the UK.
How long we keep information
10.1Personal information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for.
10.2Order and payment records are kept for seven years, as required by Israeli bookkeeping and tax rules.
10.3Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it may be relevant to a possible acquisition or commission, and is deleted on request.
10.4Beyond those periods, information is either deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
International visitors and transfers
11.1The studio is based in Israel and the site is hosted in Israel. If you contact us or order from abroad, your information will be processed in Israel.
11.2Israel has been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection, so transfers from the EEA to Israel do not require an additional safeguard.
11.3When a work is shipped internationally, the delivery details are shared with the courier and, where required, with the customs authorities of the destination country.
Children
The site is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please write to hivroni@gmail.com and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
13.1This policy may be updated from time to time, for example when a new service or provider is introduced.
13.2The current version is always the one published on this page, and the “last updated” date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
