Shrunk

A ceramic sculpture exploring the connection between body and fabric, movement and constraint. The gathered folds near the chest create the illusion of fabric being pulled upward as if retracting or shrinking.
The contrast between delicate pleats and rigid ceramic enhances the sense of contraction—like a dress that shrank or a faded memory of fabric that no longer fits. The greenish hue and rough texture give it the feel of a preserved object, a silent marker of absence and transformation.
As in my other works, the missing human figure invites interpretation. Is this a moment of withdrawal? A relic of a garment that once conformed to a now-absent body? Or a struggle between the urge to appear and the impulse to vanish? “Shrunk” explores material, memory, and the tension between presence and disappearance.
