A ceramic sculpture preserving the memory of presence—moments held within fabric but left without the body that once wore it. The classic dress, with its fitted waist, symmetrical pleats, and neatly tied belt, conveys softness yet also a sense of time passed.
The ceramic material gives the dress a rigidity that contrasts with the softness of fabric. The rough texture and greenish tones evoke an object preserved, a silent witness to memories carried within. Without a figure inside, the dress becomes a shell of a presence that once was, an open question about its owner.
As in my other works, the missing body invites interpretation. Is this a childhood memory? A glimpse of an elegant, restrained moment? Or an object holding a story, waiting to be filled again? “Her Dress” explores time, memory, and the connection between the wearer and the worn.
