A ceramic sculpture exploring the tension between warmth and structure, softness and rigidity. The coat, with faux shearling trim around the collar, pockets, and edges, represents a protective layer—yet without a body, it becomes a symbol of the wrapping itself.
The contrast between the textured wool-like trim and the rigid ceramic highlights the gap between physical and symbolic warmth. The coat, seemingly waiting for its wearer, holds its form despite the absence of a body.
As in my other works, the missing human figure invites interpretation. Is this a remnant of a garment without its wearer? A testament to warmth found in material rather than the body? Or a shell that protects as much as it conceals? “Shearling” explores memory, material, and the meaning woven into clothing.
