Foreign Suit

A ceramic sculpture examining the duality between power and otherness, between representation and detachment. Its upright form, with tailored lines and precise details, conveys prestige but also distance as if the attire belongs to a foreign culture.
The symmetrical buttons, refined embellishments, and structured pockets resemble ceremonial military or royal uniforms, designed to project authority. Yet, the missing body shifts the focus to the garment’s symbolism rather than the wearer.
As in my other works, the absence of a figure invites interpretation. Is this a shell of power and control? A testament to someone who became a symbol more than a person? Or an attempt to assume a role that doesn’t fit? “Foreign Suit” explores the tension between self and image, clothing and wearer, belonging and estrangement.
