Tailored

A ceramic sculpture exploring the symbolic power of formal attire, its expectations, and the image it projects. Its upright, structured form exudes authority and precision.
The tailored suit, with its sharp lapel, subtle pocket, and single button, represents success and societal expectations. The rigid ceramic material reinforces its unyielding nature, a shell maintaining its shape without a body. The dark tone and rough texture evoke time and memory, as if the garment has outlasted its wearer.
As in my other works, the absence of a human figure invites interpretation. Is this an empty shell of an identity shaped by social codes? Or a symbol of the tension between appearance and reality? To me, “Tailored” explores representation, visibility, and the space clothing leaves behind.
